Los Angeles City Council District 9 Councilman Curran Price, Jan Perry, General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD), and a dozen YouthSource Center participants attended a Martin Luther King Day barbeque hosted by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Chief Charlie Beck and the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Officers in Watts.

The barbeque, which took place on Saturday January 13, 2018, is a local tradition for the Watts Community to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The barbeque was held across the street from the Youth Opportunity Movement, Watts YouthSource Center, which is overseen by EWDD.
