More than 50 youth participants started their Hire LA’s Youth internship Monday July 8, 2019 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus. Participants will work at the UCLA campus in various departments including the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital, Materials Management, Law School, School of Education and Athletics.

Hire LA's Youth is a year-round youth employment program designed to give young Angelenos ages 14-24 their first work experience and place them on a career path as lifetime earners. The program helps young adults make the transition to their first or second job and sets them on a career path that benefit local businesses and LA's economy.

Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti has set a goal of 20,000 jobs by 2020, whether it’s a summer internship or year-round, full-time employment. Through the Hire LA’s Youth initiative, the City of LA partners with employers to help fill those positions.

If you are a local business seeking to give back, the Hire LA's Youth program is the perfect resource. Put a young person to work this summer and your business will benefit from having a highly motivated young adult in your workplace while giving them a crucial career building opportunity.
