On December 11th, EWDD’s annual BusinessSource Centers (BSC) and partners meeting was held at the USC Credit Union. For their exceptional performance throughout the year, BSC operators Initiating Change in Our Neighborhoods (ICON), Managed Career Solutions (MCS), and Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) received certificates.

Andrew Pennington, Director of Strategic Initiatives from the Mayor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (MOBED), thanked the operators for their work and stated the importance of collaboration between the BCSs, EWDD, and MOBED to help small businesses obtain contract opportunities for upcoming major sporting events. “With 2025, we are going to amplify the message more and build the success of our programs to move further into the procurement spaces and provide more opportunities and break more barriers down for small businesses to get into that space.”

EWDD’s General Manager, Carolyn Hull, expressed gratitude for the operator’s dedication to bringing free services to small businesses. “We can't do what we need to do on the ground for small businesses without you. As we move into these next couple of years, there is a lot of work, we have so many major events coming. Our goal is to ensure that our small businesses and our labor force are prepared to take advantage of that.”
